This is a short history of Indian Oaks Christian Church.

The church was established in 1968 when twenty-two members of LeGrand Avenue Church of Christ decided to attempt to plant a new church in the Saks area north of Anniston. This was timed with the last payment of the mortgage of the LeGrand Church. Some of the charter members are alive and still active.

Our Present Building was completed and dedicated in June 7, 1970. The building was constructed with mostly volunteer labor under the direction of L. Brice Hill, contractor. This magnificent building was built for a cost of only $39,700.00 and this included the cost of three acres of land and interior furnishings. When completed it had an appraised value of $65,000.00.

Years later the mother church LaGrand Avenue Church of Christ merged with the daughter church. The present congregation is alive and growing. We invite you to join us and be a part of our great fellowship.
